DALLAS, TX — Industry veteran Ron Thompson, a 30-year specialist in crane and rigging insurance and a 15-year member of the Texas Crane Owners Association (TCOA), has been officially nominated for the association’s newly established Associate Member board seat.

Thompson, currently serving as an Executive Vice President at CoVerica, has managed and advocated through more than 4,000 insurance claims over the course of his career, making him one of the most experienced risk and claims advisors in the crane sector.

“My goal is to support TCOA members with deeper insight into insurance, risk mitigation, and claims advocacy,” said Thompson. “From navigating DOT-related underwriting changes to ensuring fair treatment from carriers, I want to be a voice for crane owners in every room where decisions are made.”

In addition to his advisory work, Thompson is the host of Crane Talk, a podcast focused on safety leadership and risk management in the crane and heavy construction industries. He is known for his working knowledge of ASME B.30.5 and ASCE 93 standards and is frequently called upon for training and guidance on compliance practices.

“Ron has been a relentless advocate for safety and education in this industry,” said Gene Greiner, Executive Vice President & Director at CoVerica. “He would be a tremendous asset to the TCOA board.”
